My name is Georgia Boswell, and I am proud to be the Kindergarten Teacher at Mackay Community Childcare and Kindergarten.
I have been working in the Early Childhood Education industry for 6 years. I hold a Bachelor of Education degree and have recently been accepted into studying a Master of Education.
I am very passionate about working with young minds and supporting children in their learning and development journey. My teaching practices are influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach. I believe children are capable and competent beings who are full of potential and should be active participants in their own learning and education. I strive to create a high-quality holistic program, that is engaging and relevant to the learning and development needs of the kindergarten children.
I believe the learning environment has a significant influence on the learning and development of children. I aim to ensure that it is well suited to children’s interests and developmental stages, in order to maximise learning opportunities. I emphasize the significance of outdoor learning and aim to foster children’s connection to land, by learning with and through nature.
In addition, I believe children should be seen and heard in our local community. I value the importance of regular community excursions, as they play a fundamental role in supporting children to develop life skills necessary for active community participation. Lastly, I ensure that I create reciprocal relationships with children and their families, that are built on the foundations of trust and respect, as I believe these relationships are paramount to children’s sense of wellbeing and belonging.
